Connected to our Active Row programme, the LYR Open Clubs provide a bridge between school-based rowing and community water sports. These weekly, youth club–style sessions give young people from underrepresented groups the chance to stay active, have fun, and build confidence on the water.
Alongside rowing, participants can explore kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding — learning new skills and growing as part of an inclusive, supportive community.
For those ready to take the next step, the pathway leads into the LYR Boat Club — a Paddle UK–affiliated racing club focused on progression and skill development. While competition is encouraged, the heart of the club remains inclusion, teamwork, and personal growth.
Together, these initiatives open the door to lifelong engagement in water sports, helping young people thrive both on and off the water.
