London Youth Rowing are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join their session coaching team at rowing hubs across London.


Job Description

Coaching rowing to people of different abilities and backgrounds; you will be expected to adapt your coaching style to the individuals needs in order to provide high quality sessions and fulfil session goals set out by the site Operations Manager. Following an induction, you will know how to structure and plan your sessions, report and document the necessary data for each session, and carry out all the tasks and responsibilities of a session coach. As well as coaching time, there is also time allocated for extra tasks and duties (e.g. maintaining equipment.)

Skills and Qualifications

A Level 2 Rowing Coaching Qualification or Session Coaching Qualification is desirable however not essential.   

Additional Offer for applicants under 25yrs who hold university student status:

Upon completing 40hrs of coaching, supervised by a qualified member of staff, you will be offered the opportunity to enrol in your Level 2 Rowing Coach Qualification, subsidised by LYR. After completing the qualification you will agree to coach a further 30hrs minimum.

Additional Requirements

If you are successful at interview, you are required by London Youth Rowing to fulfil the following requirements:

  • Safeguarding and Protecting Children training
  • Aquire a British Rowing Membership (Silver +)
  • DBS Check


£8.00 per hour for non-Level 2 Rowing Coach

£15.00 per hour for Level 2 Qualified Rowing Coach
