London Youth Rowing have an exciting opportunity for full time coach to join our LYR team in London.

We are looking for an engaging, enthusiastic and creative person to lead our Alternative Provision (PRU) Programme building and maintaining relationships with current and new Alternative Provision schools.

The role requires an exceptional individual who is confident, enthusiastic and has a passion for engaging young people in physical activity - confidently leading on a range of sport and on water sessions*.

Pay & Hours

This is a Full-Time, fixed term coaching position for two years, with a salary starting from £23,000 per annum. The working days are Monday to Friday typically with at least one evening a week and occasional weekends throughout the year. Days in lieu of working additional hours must be arranged and agreed with your managers.

The role is integral to the successful delivery of the Alternative Provision Programme. The Alternative Provision (AP) programme works across several London Boroughs, and is funded by the Vinters Company . The AP Coach will develop a strong partnership with Secondary Schools and deliver and co-ordinate inspiring programme of ‘on the water ‘sessions.

What we need from you:


  • Previous experience of co-ordinating
  • Experience of working both independently and as part of a team
  • Understanding and experience using technology

*A rowing coaching qualification is not essential, although willingness to complete the relevant qualifications with our support will be required.
