Active Row Hubs

Our recreational sessions run after school 1-2 times a week at various locations, to develop young people’s confidence, fitness and technique on the water. These sessions are part of the Active Row Programme, for Schools signed up to London Youth Rowing.

Currently four Active Row Hubs run across London. This number will increase over the coming months in Spring 2019.

  • Royal Docks Adventure Centre, Newham (Monday)
  • Thames Tradesmen Rowing Club, Chiswick Boathouse (Wednesday)
  • Fairlop Rowing Club (Tuesday and Thursday) pictured below
  • Osterley Park, Hounslow (Monday)

Future Hubs:

  • Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre
  • Surrey Quays Watersports Centre
  • Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
  • Barn Elms Boat Club

This is the perfect pathway for young people with experience of indoor rowing from Active Row to progress in a fun and social environment. These sessions are funded by Sport England and Tideway for Active Row Schools’ participants only.

The weekly sessions aim to:

  • Act as a pathway from indoor rowing to on-water activity
  • Prepare young people for transition into competitive junior squads if they are ready to compete
  • Provide a supportive, fun and social environment for young people to be active
  • Engage young people from diverse backgrounds through the Active Row Programme
