Further Information

Over the past year alone, LYR has opened-up access to rowing for over 8,000 young people, with a special focus on those who “don’t do sport” or who would not normally try a new sport. We have an established an Apprenticeship programme and have continued to build our pioneering Life Skills Breaking Barriers programme. Our indoor rowing programme flourishes at clubs based in over 70 Secondary Schools and saw us roll out a series of successful indoor competitions as part of ‘Active Row’ a four-year initiative that builds on the momentum of our Satellite Club programme. In March we will host our annual event -  The National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships (NJIRC) and welcome over 2,000 young people to the Copper Box Arena for the largest indoor rowing event in the world. On the water, in the past year alone nearly 3,000 young people participated in our junior clubs, now at five centres, with notable successes for young rowers at Regattas and a Silver medal at the Junior World Rowing Championships.

London Youth Rowing is an equal opportunities organisation and encourages applications from all sections of the community.
