When I was in younger I was uninterested in School and very inactive. One day in a PE lesson I sat on a rowing machine and beat the School record. I encouraged told to take up rowing and shortly afterwards I signed up to a Learn to Row Course with London Youth Rowing. The coaches were great and I was introduced to the most amazing sport, I also found out I was good at it. From that point on I spent more time focussed in School because I wanted to row at University and I was spending a lot more time being active.

After a successful time competing in rowing, I was side-lined by an injury. Although this was very hard to deal with I began coaching and giving back to my sport. LYR offered me a job as a Community Coach and I never looked back.

Getting involved in rowing and London Youth Rowing really changed my life. Now I am in the position to offer so many young people the same opportunity I had and help changed their lives for the better.
