Connecting Londoners with the River Thames

Join us for the ACTIVE ROW REGATTA, a schools event as part of our Active Row programme at the 2018 Foreshore Festival. The event will be taking Londoners back in time to the 19th Century, when rowing was a competitive form of transporting goods across the River. Young people from local Active Row Secondary Schools will race in fixed seat boats for the first time. Taster sessions on the water will be available for anyone aged 11 years upwards, with no experience required.

When:

Sunday 23rd Sept, 2018 - 11:00 to 15:30 (various rowing activities)
Taster sessions: 2.30pm at Shadwell, 2.45pm at Putney

Where: 

Putney Embankment and Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre

What:

  • The festival is a free, family open day for all

  • You can come down and find out more about the River Thames

  • Various sports activities and taster sessions – Stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and rowing

  • Foreshore activities – anti-plastic awareness activities, beach combing, river dipping and mud larking

  • River safety demonstrations – local forces showing off River safety craft

Who:

Invited Active Row schools will be attending to celebrate the start of Year 2 of Active Row, racing in fixed seat boats for the first time. 

Fixed seat rowing is also available as a taster session (45mins) on the day for anyone aged 11+. Tickets below.
