Everyone really enjoyed the day and got quite into supporting the rowers! Thanks also for all the up-front info, organisation on the day (Andy was superb) and top-notch packed lunches.

Volunteering for London Youth Rowing is enjoyable and fulfilling. We know this, because that’s what our volunteers tell us!
Whatever your background and skills, we can find a rewarding opportunity for you to support our work with young people across London. We have volunteers as young as 16 through to retired people. If you are enthusiastic then you are very welcome.
By volunteering, you can:
- Meet new people
- Learn a new skill (and qualifications)
- Use your experience and existing skills for valuable work
- Make a contribution to your local community
- Get job and college references
- Gain work experience for your CV
- Make a positive difference to the world around you
For more information about volunteering, please fill in the Contact form or e-mail Grainne or Matt.
Getting involved;
When you have made contact with LYR and talked through your role options;
- LYR will ask you for a personal reference
- You then download and complete a declaration form (SPCG18B) from the British Rowing website via the following link:
http://www.ara-rowing.org/welfare/supplementary-guidance-documents
- You then send declaration form to Laura Fieldman, Amateur Rowing Association, 6 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, London. W6 9DJ, marked ‘private and confidential’, indicating that you are an LYR volunteer coach, and also specifying the club or school at which you are based (this is so we know where to send the forms)
- Laura will send out application papers for you to the Child Welfare Officer (CWO) of relevant club
- You and CWO arrange a mutually convenient time to meet, complete forms and carry out necessary ID checks
- CWO send completed paperwork back to Laura Fieldman, Amateur Rowing Association, 6 Lower Mall, Hammersmith, London. W6 9DJ
- ARA will then write to LYR to confirm receipt of Disclosure (you will also receive a copy of the Disclosure direct from CRB)
