The UKCC Level 2 Award is the entry level qualification for on the water rowing instructors. The materials, course delivery and assessment are targeted at beginner coaches and not just coaches of beginners. You should know how to row to do this training, but you don’t have to be a superstar! The Level 2 Certificate qualifies coaches to prepare for, deliver and review coaching sessions on the water.
Accreditation for Prior Learning and Direct Assessment is available if you have qualifications in coaching from other Sports National Governing Bodies or other national Rowing Federations.
Currently, coach training is subsidised by Sport England, and we may even reimburse the rest of your costs if you commit to a certain number of volunteer hours with us.
