Schools’ curriculum 

Many schools love LYR’s indoor rowing programmes.  Our 13 week modular programme enables PE teachers to incorporate indoor rowing as a physical activity into a term’s PE in years 8 or 9.

After this taster, many students continue in an out-of-school-hours Indoor Club, or even try on-water rowing!

There are lots of ways rowing and indoor rowing can fit into the curriculum, giving students a chance to ;

-   recognise that activity affects specific aspects of fitness

-   set themselves clear targets with measurable outcomes

-   apply specific techniques appropriate to developing stamina

-   use IT to monitor their work

-   draw conclusions about logged data and its relevance to undertaking exercise
