Not everyone likes to compete but everyone likes to feel proud of making progress. We find it’s important to reward those who want to go at their own pace and set personal targets.
That means placing more emphasis on the distance rowed rather than competition. And our Distance Award Scheme (DAS) does just that. Rowers are encouraged to row when they can, for as long they can, and achieve certain distance targets.
Each rower registering to participate in DAS will be given a log card to use at training sessions, games, competitions, basically everytime he or she rows! As the distances add up, awards levels are reached, so all the time DAS rowers are sweating their way to prizes.
