We have found that indoor rowing appeals even to students who do not enjoy taking part in game activities but love getting on the rowing machine to race, practise or just have fun.

LYR Active is all about getting physically active while having fun. Our programmes are based around activities on the indoor rowing machine and other equipment, and include plenty of games and activities too.
Our modular programme allows your coach to tailor training sessions to your needs - whether you are looking to slip gently into a more active lifestyle, or training hard for a football or basketball team, or to be a stronger rower!
You can chart your progress by taking part in our Distance Award Scheme [DAS], or if you are up for some racing, take part in competitions from school events right up to the annual National Junior Indoor Rowing Championships [NJIRC].
LYR operates programmes in many schools and clubs throughout the capital, in curriculum time [see Schools' curriculum] and out-of-school-hours [see Indoor Clubs] and we are always keen to help another group underway.
Whether you are a student interested in getting your school or club involved, or a PE teacher thinking about how you can incorporate one of our indoor activity programmes into a term’s classes, contact us and let’s get you started.
