Hello
I would like to thank every one of you for entering NJIRC2008.
It was far bigger and better than we had hoped for – the final numbers for the entries were over the 1000 making NJIRC one of the biggest Junior Indoor Rowing Events ever!!
So, thank you again.
There were one or two issues - transport and traffic problems on the motorway on the way to the venue and also we were running a little behind schedule due to trying to get the hundreds of entry changes and alterations onto the race system - it meant that we had to bring The Boat Race Crew Announcement forward slightly which gave those people stuck in traffic the chance to get there but it did mean that we were always running behind schedule.
I am really sorry for this, as I know that a lot of you had made long journeys to join us for the day. I can only apologise and hope that you had some good racing to try and make up for it!
We had a photographer on site all day and he has arranged for some of the photos to be available for you to buy if you would like a souvenir. We will be placing a link from this site on Monday or Tuesday which will enable you to go direct to their website where you will find all the details.
We are really keen to get the event just right and hope that you can see the difference between 2006 and 2007 already if you came to both. For that to happen we need your feedback and thoughts and comments. We will be emailing the NJIRC Evaluation form to everyone whose details we have in the next couple of days – if you could just spend a couple of minutes what you thought and how we could improve the event next year. Just either email it to me at mrostron@londonyouthrowing.com, fax it back to me at 0207 474 3333 or mail back to Matt Rostron, London Youth Rowing, London Regatta Centre, Dockside Road, London. E16 2QT.
Thanks for entering NJIRC and make sure you watch the Boat Race itself on 29th March on ITV - see you next year.
