Steve Redgrave is a product of Marlow Comprehensive, the talent has always and still is in the comprehensives of England, like all sports it is about opportunity. Cricket has the same potential prospects in the comprehensive system.

I am very sad to learn of such the loss of such a man as Andy deQuidt. While I did not have the good fortunate of meeting him, I know that his work was very important and from this picture he looks like he had great passion for his work. Knowing rowers of an older age who would have began their quests with coaching from people such as Andy, his work was, no doubt, instrumental in the formulation of more elite and successful athletes as a result of good beginnings. It is a terrible loss. One must take solace in his contributions while he was here and know that he enjoyed his work.

Watching young people get fully absorbed as they work on the rowing machines has absolutely convinced me that it's a great way to get them thinking about their health and wellbeing. Nothing worth doing is ever easy but LYR in particular know how to inspire young people and set targets that are relevant to each individual. These programmes can and do make a difference!
