Based close to the heart of historic Greenwich and only minutes from Cutty Sark DLR, Greenwich and Maze Hill train stations, Globe Rowing Club offers competitive as well as recreational rowing and sculling on an exciting and varied stretch of almost 9 miles of the River Thames from Tower Bridge to the Thames Barrier.
There is a tremendous history of ordinary people earning their living on the River Thames and relaxing by racing each other in their working boats along Greenwich Reach. In fact, the oldest regatta in the country is Greenwich Regatta, established in 1787. Globe Rowing Club, founded in 1923 is in many respects heir to that tradition and is one of the last clubs active on the lower reaches on the Thames.
