Tribute to Andy

Andy deQuidt, one of our Community Sports Coaches that was based in West London, had been suffering since January with an inoperable brain tumour.

It is with deep sadness that we have to inform you that Andy lost his brave fight last week and passed away surrounded by his family.

Andy Boathouse

He was still busy 4 – 5 weeks ago ‘ticking off’ more of the things that he had always wanted to do. He was moved to hospital after suffering with pneumonia and although he was clearly struggling, he was in good form.

He was moved to a hospice a couple of weeks ago for complete care and to ensure that he received the support that he needed.

It is a huge loss to us all at London Youth Rowing and he will be greatly missed.

There will be a memorial service next Thursday where everyone that knew Andy or were aware of the work that he had done for London Youth Rowing and the young people in West London, are welcome. More details – please contact mrostron@londonyouthrowing.com

The family have asked for people not to send flowers but if you did want to do something then please make donations to www.worldatplay.org.uk
