Making Taking Part Count – Distance Award Scheme

How often have you heard, “It’s the taking part that counts”?

Sometimes it’s hard to believe, especially when you have sweated it out and not received so much as a pat on the back!

Well, in the LYR Distance Award Scheme (DAS), it really doesn’t matter how long it takes you to reach your goal:  it is just the taking part that counts.

As you clock up distances in class, club, even competitions, always use your log card and as you approach the DAS milestones you pick up prizes! Pins for each milestone are in Judo belt colours as you progress in skill, fitness and distance. Each colour is a mark of your physical and mental strength and dedication.

Getting involved in the DAS has never been easier – all you need to do is to let your club leader know that you are interested and start using your indoor rower log card to record your distances!

Club leaders, you can submit your DAS distances once a month by email to your community coach.
